What it’s about
With LEGO® Mindstorms you build your own robots with motors, colour and touch sensors and program them with blocks. Then it gets exciting: you collect training data, train an AI on the computer to recognise your hand signals and connect it to your robot – thumbs up means go, flat hand means stop.
Along the way you discover what makes AI different from normal programming: instead of fixed rules, it learns from examples. You test when it gets things wrong – for example in different lighting – and make it better. And when your parents drop by, you show them what your robot can already do.
What you’ll learn
- Constructing robots with motors and sensors
- Block-based programming and finding mistakes
- Collecting training data and training an AI
- Testing, questioning and improving AI results
